"An 1978 Bultaco to ride the 2013 Dakar? You must be kidding me", that's what some guy told me. Well, smiles or not, here we are, introducing to you the only Bultaco to ride this year's Dakar rally, an old 2-stroke Frontera 370.
Far from being new to cross-country racing, Chivite has raced previously with the same bike and has already won important prizes, such as the 1st place in the historic bikes class of the 2007 Pyramid Rally in Egypt and came in the Paris-Dakar Heroes Legend in 2008.
Ignacio and his Bultaco also raced in the last year's Dakar but had to give up during the 6th stage due to mechanical failures. 2013 brings an updated bike and more important - a technical assistance team. The old Bultaco received better engine protection, tanks, xenon headlights and roadbook support.
We cheer for Ignacio Chivite and honor his commitment to cross-country racing, hpoing a better race this year. His bike is the only Bultaco in the race, the only 2-stroke one and possibly, the oldest so he really deserves your praises.
