Korean automaker Hyundai has released the first teaser image of the 2014 Elantra/Avante, the first facelift applied to the fifth-generation model.
After about three years on the market, the current Elantra/Avante will arrive with updated LED headlights and taillamps, revised bumpers and redesigned alloy wheels for the 2014 model year. The teaser also suggest new interior tech features, but actual details have yet to be revealed.
According to Hyundai-Blog, the new Elantra could gain a diesel engine, but the information still need confirmation from the automaker. Hyundai will continue to offer the same range four-cylinder gasoline engines fitted in the Elantra since the 2011 model year.
The facelifted Avante will go on sale in South Korea in third quarter, with a global release date to be announced later this year. Word has it the Elantra sedan could make its debut at the Los Angeles Auto Show in November.
