As the SEMA show approaches, more and more projects start to appear and it seems that one of the most prepared carmakers is Hyundai, which is now announcing its third creation for the event.
We've already met the ARK Performance Veloster and the PM Lifestyle Veloster and it is now time to find out some details about the third toy, the Genesis Coupe Hurrican SC Edition, a project handled by Hyundai America Technical Center Inc. (HATCI).
We have to start by telling you that the tech side of this story takes the Genesis Coupe straight into the Mustang V8 territory, as its 3.8-liter V6 uni will be fitted with supercharger, a Magnuson liquid-to-air intercooler and other goodies, which will allow the unit to produce over 450 hp.
And we haven't even gotten to the best part yet, as it seems that this is only a preview for future production Hyundai models.
"The HATCI and Magnuson supercharger demonstrates the high-performance potential of Genesis Coupe's V-6 engine – the car was engineered to handle this kind of extra power," said HATCI senior engineer David Dutko. "Our HATCI engineers have been working for years with Magnuson to ensure high engine output is available on future Hyundai vehicles."
Getting back to the Genesis Coupe Hurrican SC Edition, we'll mention that the list of other goodies includes 19-inch Enkei rims wrapped in Hankook runner, a Bilstein suspension, Brembo brakes, a lightened flywheel and (moving away from the tech side), an aggressive Rhis Millen aerodynamic package, a Harman Lexicon audio system, a Katzkin leather finish and others.
