The cabin air filter (pollen filter) in your Toyota Camry makes sure that no exterior stray particles go through the air conditioning unit and reach the cabin.
As any filter, it will need a regular replacement. Doing that is very easy and all you need is the spare filter. You can do it anywhere and these are the steps:
  • Turn the AC off
  • Open the glovebox compartment and take all the stuff you store there out
  • Locate the rectangular cap at the back
  • Push the clip on the right to pop the cap out
  • Behind it, there will be an almost identical cap, so take that out too
  • Extract the filter and replace it with the new one. Make sure you put it the right side up
  • Put both the caps back and you are done.
