Weight-losing programs and fitness training have really taken up over the last few years and now we are here to give you one of the most efficient and expensive in the world. Coming from Germany, this was developed not by nutritionists, but by engineers wearing Porsche badges.
The German carmakers has just released a video talking about the Weissach Package for its 918 Spyder, with the clip showing us how the hypercar loses weight, layer by layer.

Since the 918 features a hybrid powertrain, this is quite a heavy animal in the hypercar world, tipping the scales at about 1,700 KG (3,700 lbs). Well, the Weissach package does away with 41 of those kilos.

The magnesium wheels shave 14.9 KG off the car’s. Ceramic wheel barings and titanium bolts on the chassis take the value to 16.4 KG, while the braking system’s weight optimization means you lose a total of 18.4 kg, The savings hit 20.7 KG thanks to the carbon add-on parts. Remembering racing lessons from the pre-war era (Mercedes and Auto Union were the ones back then), Porsche replaced the paint layer with a film coating. Moreover, you can cover the car in one of the two available liveries: Martini Racing or the Salzburg Design.

By the way, word has it that the Weissach package even has its own code - while the 918 Spyder is called 310 in Porsche language, the pack turns that into 320.
