How Cars Will Look Like in 2025

Even if today's cars include all kinds of high-performance and futuristic equipment, a difference of 17 years can bring a lot of new features to race cars, especially when talking about million dollar investments made by multinational companies. The carmakers participating at the fifth edition of the Los Angeles Auto Show Design Challenge tried to imagine what cars will look like in 2025, competing for the grand prize to be announced on November 20.

"Automotive designers have always been fascinated with Motor Sports and this year's Design Challenge has provided them with the opportunity to use their creative talent to look at these cars with new eyes, using innovative technologies and approaches," said Chuck Pelly, director of Design Los Angeles and partner in The Design Academy, Inc.. "This adds to the excitement, interest and personal involvement in the sport that has thrilled people of all ages for many years...and many more years to come."

Among the models that entered the competition, we can mention Audi R25, GM Chaparral Volt, Mazda KAAN, Mitsubishi Motors MMR25, Mercedes-Benz Formula Zero and Toyota Lemans Racer.

All the aforementioned cars include numerous amazing elements, including design and engine parts that will improve both the look and the performance. The Mazda Kaan for instance, “is an electric race car that has a patented electronic tire system to reach 250 mph with no harmful emissions,” as it is mentioned in a press release published LA Design Challenge organizers.

The Mercedes-Benz Formula Zero Racer on the other hand combines luxury racing with high-performance features, “incorporating the thrill of Formula One, the track dynamics of the bobsled or luge, and the grace and efficiency of yacht racing.”
