Honda has record-breaking aspirations for this year’s Pikes Peak International Hill Climb scheduled for June 29-30th.
The automaker has already broken a record for the highest number of vehicle classes to enter from a single manufacturer. A total of 10 Honda vehicles will participate at “The Race to the Clouds” this year, including cars, motorcycles and ATVs. Honda looks toward obtaining an overall victory at the race, regardless its limited sponsorship for the event.
Pikes Peak’s Hill Climb is recognized as the world’s ultimate hill climbing race, with a 12.42-mile (20 km) course that starts at 2.8 km (9,390 feet) and ends at a of 4.3 km (14,110 feet) max altitude. The course is very difficult due to its 156 turns and the 30 percent engine power loss due to the thin air at high-altitudes.
