One of the key individuals in Honda's history, Takeo Fukui, announces his imminent retirement from the manufacturer's board. This April, Mr. Fukui will step down from the executive position and will continue as an advisor to the company.
Touted the most important personality after Soichiro Honda himself, Takeo Fukui filled the President position between 2003 and 2009, and continued as a director after Takanobu Ito replaced him.
Takeo Fukui also ran HRC in the late 80's and the R&D department in the early 90's, and was thus a part of the team which gave us the Fireblade.
