Honda Revises Shadow Phantom and RS Custom V-Twins for 2011

Japanese motorcycle manufacturer Honda has not only impressed with its stunning display at EICMA 2010, which comprised no less than eight world premieres, but it had also focused on updating its popular Shadow range, namely the RS and the Phantom models.

Taken separately, the Shadow Phantom gets a minimalist look and extensive blackout treatment, as well as a 745cc V-twin engine featuring Programmed Fuel Injection. “By staking out the low-profile approach to cool, the Shadow Phantom reinforces the idea that bling ain't everything in a bike,” Honda says.

The Phantom has a curb weight of 549 pounds (249 kg), a fuel capacity of 3.7 gallons (14 liters), including 0.9-gallon (3.4 liters) reserve, and a fuel economy of 56 mpg (4.2 l/100km).

Honda Genuine Accessories for the Phantom includes options such as Boulevard Screen (smoke), Custom Rider Seat, Solo Rider Rear Carrier, Backrest (tall/low), Rear Carrier, Backrest/Rear Carrier Mounting Brackets, Tank Belt (plain/studded), Saddlebags, Saddlebag Supports, Saddlebag Liner Set, Touring Bag (plain/studded/fringed), Front Pouch (plain/studded), and Cycle Cover.

On the other hand, the Honda Shadow RS also comes with 745cc V-twin power with Programmed Fuel Injection and standard-style riding ergonomics, but also with higher footpegs that enhance the ground clearance. New for 2011 is a fresh Blue/White/Red paint scheme.

Honda Genuine Accessories for the RS includes options such as Boulevard Screen (smoke), Backrest (tall/low), Backrest Trim (tall/low), Rear Carrier, Backrest/Rear Carrier Mounting Brackets, Master Cylinder Caps (fluted/"V" design/neo-retro), Billet License Plate Frame (fluted/"V" design/neo-retro), Saddlebags, Saddlebag Supports, Saddlebag Liner Set, Touring Bag (plain/studded/fringed), Front Pouch (plain/studded), and Cycle Cover.

The RS has a curb weight of 507 pounds (230 kg), a fuel capacity of 2.8 gallons (11 liters), including 0.7-gallon (2.6 liters) reserve, and a fuel economy of 56 mpg (4.2 l/100km).
