Honda's recent Navi scooter has nothing in common with the Avatar world, but has everything to do with fun mixed with commuting prowess. Navi is a new scooter that looks like a concept design, but which will, in fact, be available soon. It was recently unveiled at the 2016 Auto Expo Show in Delhi and will be offered in three versions, Street, Off-road and Adventure.
It doesn't take a bike design expert to spot the similarities between the Navi and the MSX125, more widely known as Grom. The scooter looks like Grom's smaller sibling, but retaining many of its cues and overall appearance.

The Navi may seem like it's missing the engine when you see it for the first time, but the big negative space under the tank is in fact purposely there. The engine and the transmission are grouped with the rear wheel, as in the case of most scooters, and the empty space in the front is where you'd put your luggage. It looks like a special cargo box can also be installed.

A cheap, good-looking scooter we'd like to see sold worldwide

Honda's new scoot is powered by an 110cc single-cylinder engine, but no official tech specs are available for now. The brake system uses drums actuated by cables, and we can only hope they pack sufficient stopping power.

The three versions come in lively colors, and the Adventure and Off-road models are also accessorized with crash bars and hand protectors, and the Navi can even be had with knobby tires suitable for riding on rocky or muddy roads and trails.

Judging by the looks of Honda's recent bikes, we kind of see a new path ahead for House Tokyo. Certain genes from Grom, which seems to have started the new design trend for Honda, have passed into the CRF1000L Africa Twin, the City Adventure and now, into the Navi. And we like that!

There is no telling whether Honda plans to export the Navi to international markets, but even if it does, we doubt it will arrive with a price tag anywhere near the $585 or €520 it has in India, motorbeam informed us when they sent the live photos.
