The tests have been affected by rain, and Marquez took two falls, one yesterday and one today, aboard his 2014 RC213V bike. He was uninjured and was able to continue the tests. The 2015 RC213V bikes have showed up in the classic matte black test livery, and seem identical to the current machine, from an aesthetic point of view. We’re positive that details on the 2015 bikes will emerge soon, as Honda and its factory riders participate in more tests.

After having MM93 signed for a new 2-season contract earlier this year, possibly the first contract confirmation of 2014, Repsol Honda has extended the deal with Dani Pedrosa as well, so the Japanese manufacturer will field the same works duo in 2015 and 2016. Since the summer break is a good time for inking new deals, the Spanish lubricants Repsol and Honda Racing Corporation have agreed to continue their long-standing relationship for three more years, through the end of 2017.

Repsol and Honda have been together for quite a long time, with everything beginning in February 1995, and turning into a highly successful recipe which led to 354 podiums, 137 poles, 152 race fastest laps as a complement of the 10 rider world titles and 133 race wins. The most successful rider was Australian MotoGP Legend Mick Doohan, with 35 victories, followed by Dani Pedrosa with 25, eeeven through the latter has not yet won a championship.

Honda’s success over these 2 decades means around half of the world titles, thanks to Mick Doohan (1995-1998), Alex Criville (1999), Valentino Rossi (2002 and 2003), Nicky Hayden (2006), Casey Stoner (2011) and Marc Marquez (2013). To date, Marc Marques is dominating the 2014 MotoGP with 9 victories of 9 rounds, and a perfect 225 points score to his name. His team mate Dani Pedrosa is second in the current world standing, with 148 points, followed by Valentino Rossi, with 141. MotoGP action returns August 8-10 in the US for the Indianapolis round.
