Honda is celebrating the fact that the CR-Z has received the Japanese Car of the Year award. Fortunately, the company decided that a press release filled with an official “thank you” would be far from enough, announcing that it will release a limited edition of the CR-Z on the Japanese Domestic Market.

Unfortunately, the automotive producer doesn’t seem to have made to many efforts to develop this, as the car only offers a few special features. The CR-Z Memorial Award Edition, as the vehicle is called, is dressed in a Pearl Deep Sapphire Blue coat and comes with custom rims.

The vehicle rides on new wheels that use a five double-spoke design, a silver finish and come in a 16-inch size. The ‘list” of exterior goodies is completed by a label placed on the driver’s site quarter window.

Now that we’ve seen how you can distinguish this model from other CR-Zs, let enter the car and find out what passengers are treated with. The cabin has received a Medium Gray finish that offers a cosy feeling, a set of aluminum pedals that enhance the sporty image, inviting the driver to push the one on the right, as well as a satellite navigation system.

Honda will only produce 1,000 units of the CR-Z Memorial Award Edition, with the vehicle scheduled to hit the market early next year. The vehicle comes with a price of JPY2,794,000 ($34,200 at the current exchange rates).
