Honda Insight Now More Efficient

The automotive producer has tweaked the vehicle’s stop-start system, in order to increase the car’s fuel efficiency, as Autocar reports. These modifications allow the engine to be switched off for up to three times longer that before.
The old version of the system uses a software management system that features worst-case scenario default settings for rain, vehicle loads and other weather conditions. This only allows the engine to be switched off for a period of 30 seconds. As said, the new incarnation of the system increases the “stop” phase to a 90 seconds.
Honda has chosen to introduce similar modifications for the Jazz hybrid, so the vehicle will also have its mpg rating increased.
These stop-start system changes come after Honda modified the suspension of the vehicle back in June, due to negative customer feedback that indicated ride and handling issues.
The recoil rate of the springs was softened, in order to offer a superior comfort. The engineers also adjusted the rear camber angles and modified the V-shape rear suspension brace and adjusting mounts.
We were curious to see what the Insight model knows about being an eco vehicle, as well as get to know the car in depth, so we took it for a test drive. You can read the review by following this link.
