Lo and behold, the Honda CBR300R is announced, and the fray in the low-middleweight segment begins anew.

We kind of knew Honda has been preparing a full-scale attack in all segments of the market, bending their efforts to be able to offer a bike for pretty much every kind of rider. The 12th China International Motorcycle Trade Exhibition saw the wraps pulled off the CBR300R and we're happy to see a new design, cooler and edgier than what the quarter-liter bike had.

Honda could be putting an end to the 250cc machine, replacing it with the 300 one, just like Kawasaki did with their small Ninja, thus fighting the Green machines with weapons of the same caliber.

The new Honda CBR300R is rumored to produce around 30 HP and anywhere near 25 Nm (ft-lbs), while possibly weighing less than the 250R machine.

Addressing both East-Asian and worldwide markets will definitely see this bike selling like hot cakes, to both new riders and those who would rather ride a small, economical and nimble bike in town instead of a big-bore beast.
