Hertz to Rent Electric Bicycles in London

Car rental company Hertz announced this week an expansion of its services in the capital of the UK, with the introduction of a rental service for bicycles. And not just any bicycles, but electric ones, namely the Fast4ward Edge and A2B 24.

For the moment, Hertz will not be investing heavily in this means of transportation. Only 12 such bikes will be made available, and only from Hertz's Marble Arch location. The price asked by Hertz for allowing you to ride the bike is 20 pounds a day.

What do you get for your money? Well, if you choose the electric bikes, they will give you some assistance while pedaling, thanks to the batteries fitted on them. In the case of the Edge, the assistance the bike will give you will last for up to 25 miles. The A2B on the other hand will be good for 40 miles.

For the people who rent the electric bikes, Hertz will also provide a charger, to be used when the bike runs out of batteries and you legs out of will power.

"Whether you're a Londoner wanting to explore hidden treasures or find new places to shop, or a tourist wanting to see all London has to offer, the Ultra Motor bikes are a fast, green and economical mode of transport,” said Michel Taride, Hertz president.

“Always committed to providing our customers with a range of mobility solutions, we are pleased to offer electric bikes for an easy and fun way to explore the capital."
