As we promised, here are the detailed tech specs for Hero's most interesting new design, RNT the turbo diesel scooter.
The scoot delivers 13.5 horsepower @ 4000 rpm, with the highest torque reaching an amazing 35 Nm (25.8 lb-ft) at an incredible 1600 rpm. No word on whether these figures are the ones for the standard or the turbocharged version, but still they're really nice.
The transmission is a full-fledged 6-speed one, with a 300mm front rotor and a 220mm rear one, both with hydraulic calipers to help tame and steer the machine. 17" tires ensure great passability over rough terrain, while the front suspension is a 37mm telescopic fork, aided by an adjustable rear shock unit.
The top speed is 70 km/h (43.5 mph), with 0-60 km/h (0-37 mph) in 5 seconds. Hero RNT can load 6 liters (1.6 US gal) of fuel and comes with a kerb weight of 136 kg (300 lbs).
And... and optional 1kW front hub optional motor can add true 2WD for a really awesome experience. Now, since Hero is much closer to Erik Buell, maybe EBR will also bring the design to the present day, for a completely awesome machine, altogether.
