Here’s the All-New Range Rover Spo... Yuelang X1 EV from China

Ever heard of a company going by the name of Longer? Neither did we. What you can... ahem... admire in the adjacent photo gallery is made by a Chinese manufacturer that is called as such. Oh dear, where do we start?

For starters, the Longer EV automaker is actually a joint effort between two Chinese companies, which are called Hebei Cook Electric Vehicle Corporation and Jiangsu New Grant New Energy Technology Corporation. Ever heard of them? Neither did we...

Though it’s written Langdai in Chinese and some people also refer it as Langte, the Longer brand is not something the Asian country can ever be proud of because of a copypcat baptized the Yuelang X1.

Wait, I think copycat is a word of high praise for the absurdity CarNewsChina photographed at the Shandong EV Expo auto show. Categorized as an LSEV (low-speed electric vehicle), the X1 is a shocking take on the 2015 Range Rover Sport.

Up front you can see RANGE lettering glued to the bonnet, while the badge in the front grille is telling us that this is a Longer. Look at is rear and... my God, is that CNEVROVER written on the hatch door, next to a greenish Land Rover insignia? But wait, there’s more...

This being an automotive show, you would expect the alloy wheels to be in tip-top condition. Not with the Longer Yuelang X1 though. They’re covered in mud and the center caps feature the BMW logo, so what seems to be the problem, trademark office inspector sir? Well, everything is a problem here, LOL!

Needless to say it, but would you just look at the ginormous Longer insignia on the steering wheel? Preposterous. An even more shocking detail is the lead-acid battery that's good for just 120 km (60 miles).

The 3 kW (4 bhp) electric motor isn’t praiseworthy either, nor the 50 km/h (31 mph) top speed of this 28,000-yuan (roughly $4,505) car. In Jeremy Clarkson's own words - ambitious, but rubbish.
