Hennessey-Tuned Cadillac Wagon Beats Godzilla [Video]
The Texas tuning specialist has taken the normal Cadillac’s 556 horsepower 6.2-liter V6 and tweaked it to produce 650 hp. The rear-wheel drive automatic model raced a 2011 Nissan GT-R on Hennessey's track, managing to beat it with a 11.7-second run. This is a very impressive time for an American car that still has room for a large dog in its cavernous trunk.
The GT-R was just a hair slower than the wagon monster, managing a quarter mile time of 11.8 seconds. It’s not really a valid test if you pit a stock car against a tuned one with 165 more horsepower, but it does show that the Hennessey Cadillac CTS-V Sport Wagon is fast. However, we can’t shake the thought that this is one of many runs made, and the tuned car did not fair the same in all of them.
What’s more, the 2012 Nissan GT-R offers more power, 530 hp to be precise, and would have made for a much more worthy competitor. The Nissan was also not made just for drag racing, so we expect its advanced four-wheel drive system to walk all over just about anything on a track.
We believe this video will start a flame war between Cadillac and GT-R fans, but the whole point of it must have been to have fun, not to prove a point. “The Hennessey CTS-V wagon: may your children be tardy no more,” one comment jokingly remarks.
