Hennessey Launches GTR650 Upgrade for the Nissan GT-R
Knowing that, we became curious to find out what a proper aftermarket performance package could do for the Japanese supercar. Well, it seems we are lucky, as the American tuner Hennessey Performance has just released a new modification package for the vehicle.
Before we start offering you the details of the kit, we have to mention that Hennessey has developed aftermarket kits for the GT-R in the past, offering between 600 and 800 hp.
The new creation, which uses the GTR650 designation, is aimed at offering a streetable experience. The vehicle’s 3.8 liter twin-turbo V6 engine now comes with 662 hp and a peak torque of 638 lb-ft, a pretty far stretch from the 2011 MY’s stock rating of 523 hp (the kit is not based on the revamped GT-R).
The tuner has fitted the powerplant with a new induction system, a modified boost controller, new intercoolers, as well as a custom exhaust. However, the stock turbos have been kept.
Like we said, this tricked-out ride is supposed to be fully suitable for street use, so the tuner has also upgraded other tech components, in order for the car to handle the extra muscle.
Customers can order a KW adjustable suspension, a new clutch, custom rims with high performance tires, as well as carbon fiber body parts. The list of upgrades also includes goodies coming from Cobb, HKS and Zele, so there's plenty to choose from.
