Harley-Davidson shows their new modular helmet, the FXRG. Part of the MotorClothes line, the FXRG has been engineered for high protection performance and serious comfort, while meeting the DOT standard's requirements. No word on ECE compliance, so we don't know if it is already available in Europe.
The Harley-Davidson FXRG comes in sizes XS through 2XL and is manufactured by HJC for the Motor Company. The shell is made from a lightweight composite of carbon fiber, aramid and fiberglass, and the special construction grants low noise levels even at high speeds.
The Cool4Ever inner liner is washable, moisture wicking, odor free, and antibacterial for increased wearing and cleaning comfort. The RapidFire shield replacement system is quick and needs no tools, while the shield itself includes the Pinlock 100% Max Vision lens.
The FXRG comes with an integrated sun shield which can be lowered using a back of the head-mounted slider. A bit too retro for our taste, but maybe it's just us. The lid is not the cheapest one out there, as for $525 (€) or so, a rider can get nicer options. Obviously dedicated to the H-D fans, the FXRG is however a very good investment in personal safety.
