Harley-Davidson Ditches 6 Models for 2014
Out of the total of 6 bikes which will be sacked, 2 are going to receive major updates, while the remaining 4 have sold way less than expected and Milwaukee will stop making them.
The 4 H-D modeld which sold in insufficient numbers are: the Sportster XR1200X, the Softail Blackline, the Electra Glide Classic FLHTC and the Road King FLHR. However, the Road King's versions have different destinies: the FLHRC will no longer be sold in the US, while the FLHR will be abandoned outside the US.
Two Road Glides will no longer be available for 2014: the Custom FLTRX and the Ultra FLTRU. These are said to be completely redesigned and manufacturing them requires new tooling and parts, but Harley-Davidson does not specify when will they be available again.
No word on the new models for 2014, but since it's only May, there still is plenty of time for the new treats.

Panheads? What kind of Pan do you want? Do you want the look or do you want 60 year old technology and metallurgy? Did you ever own one? They're great conversation pieces and fun to run around town, but some of us get outside the county line and aren't crazy about cleaning our points ( know what those are?) alongside the road when rain is running down your neck like Frosty the Snowman taking a leak.
TaxFree is right about water cooling. I've put 70k miles on my '07 RG and it is waaay too hot for summertime - but I do it anyway. It'll be back and I'll bet it either has a VRod engine or the new water cooled heads.
Shovelhead til the wheels fall off!
The brand sells itself.
If you don't like the heat, get out of the kitchen.
Got fuel to burn, got roads to drive...
