We’re talking about a GT4 version of the otherwise nifty Toyota GT86 developed by motorsport company GPRM, and stuffed with an engine designed along with Nicholson McLaren Engines.
GPRM director Gary Blackham announced the new engine will be capable of “between 360 and 400 hp”, but the final output figure will be determined by a series of performance tests.
“We have gone all out to engineer quality and reliability into the GT86 as well as competitivness, and the result has provoked a lot of interest from all around Europe,” added Blackham.
GPRM also confirmed that it is already in advanced talks with a customer team who want to race the GT 86 in the British GT Championship this year. Pricing hasn’t been revealed, but GPRM says the race car will be offering an extremely capable endurance car.
The Toyota GT 86 made its race debut in GT3-spec at Silvertone, where it scored an overal eight place finish against more powerful competition.
