Hallelujah, May Off-Road Trikes Become Real!

Yes, yes, and yes again: cool trike design in the vein of the Can-Am Spyder, awesome terrainability to the max and the acclaimed heritage of the Bombardier off-road vehicle range. This is how we'd describe the TrailTrike concept created by Charles Bombardier, grandson of Joseph-Armand Bombardier, father of BRP.

Trikes and, for what's worth reverse trikes, are not new, but a trike created to tackle the most unwelcoming types of terrain is something which makes our pulse rise instantaneously. Providing the ultimate stability on difficult surfaces and exceptional fun on sealed roads as well, the TrailTrike could be the true next big thing in the business.

Charles Bombardier adds a stunning detail: three-wheel drive, but he does not mention selectable modes or permanent AWD. A powerful and lightweight engine is needed for such a machine, so choosing a 2-stroke was only natural. CVT and inboard bakes should rid the rider of all the worries when in the wet.

Finally, Bombardier adds he'd like to see a carving seat on the TrailTrike, meaning seat which leans with the rider for a more reassuring feel and better weight distribution. The project is still not hooked to BRP, so there is still some waiting ahead, but we're already mesmerized.
