Have you ever thought about redesigning a modern supercar to give it a retro style look? I'm sure you did, but I bet none of your drawings made it into production, or at least a unique 1:1.
Well, Gullwing America is one of those companies that can turn morning coffee-made sketches into a real car, and they just did that with a much more elaborate design.
Their latest project, the GWA 300 SLC, is based on a new Mercedes-Benz SLS Roadster AMG that was converted to look like a 1955 Mercedes 300S Coupe (W188). While the SLS running gear and interior were basically used as found on the stock car, the 300 SLC got a brand-new handmade aluminum body and custom-made wheels.
It looks like Gullwing America put a huge effort into this vehicle, as they had to do a lot of structural alterations to fit the 21x9.5 and 22x12 Continental tire-wrapped wheels into that classic yet exquisitely shaped body.
So far we know this is a one-off model built for an Eastern European customer for a price we're probably not going to find out very soon. We wouldn't be surprised if the SLS Roadster AMG would be dirt cheap in comparison.
