We've been talking about how extreme the world of GT-R tuning has gotten for quite a while now, but you now things have gone truly haywire when somebody pokes Godzilla's eyes out to make room for new turbos.
As you'll be able to notice in the video below (hat tip to Redditor Zondax, there's an R35 out these whose headlight sockets now accommodate a pair of hefty turbochargers.

So, why would you pull an Event Horizon on your GT-R? (check out the second clip below, showing a scene from the 1997 sci-fi horror movie and you'll understand the reference).

It looks like we're dealing with a Nissan that has been converted to track use here, so the factory lights aren't that relevant anymore. The new destination of the supercar also explains the red towing hook that draws attention like a magnet.

However, when it comes to most racing disciplines, aerodynamics are of uttermost importance and the setup we see here doesn't exactly help with improving the drag coefficiency - this might be a clue towards the fact that we're dealing with a drift car.

Truth be told, relocating the turbos of the VR38DETT Godzilla heart makes full sense when you're hunting for all-out power. For one thing, the factory location of the forced induction devices limits their size.

As for how a "normal" approach of this kind looks, we can turn to AMS Performance's Alpha G GT-R for a reference. The tuner was aiming to take the Nissan past the 2,000+ hp border of its development cars, so it moved the turbochargers to the nose of the beast.

And these two GT-Rs have another thing in common, namely that we haven't gotten to see any of them in action yet. But we'll be back with more footage as soon as we get our keyboards on it.
