GT-R Gets Speeding Ticket for Doing 215 MPH in a 55 MPH Zone, Is It Fake?

As odd as it might sound to the safety-first drivers out there, speeding tickets are the subject of an unofficial championship that goes on around the country. Well, GT-R driver is Kansas may be in for a record, if his ticket is real, that is.

As you can see in the imagine below, the Nissan was caught doing 215 mph in a 55 mph zone (that's 346 km/h in an 86 km/h area for all you reading this across the pond).

Nevertheless, before we offer this driver a douchebag medal, we can't help but question the authenticity of the ticket.

We'll start with the bits that seem plausible.

While the "GODZLA" license plate is the typical way in which a GT-R owner would express his or her pride, this was issued by the State of Kansas. As for the location mentioned at the top left, this is found Northwest of Wichita, KS.

At first, the $2,255 seemed like a bargain for such an extreme velocity. However, according to this official document, the sum mentioned above appears to be legit.

And speaking of the moment's intensity, it seems only natural to expect such driving behavior to lead to some jail time. Since the ticket shows the action being marked as nothing more than an infraction, that wasn't the case.

While the Kansas law does have felony offenses for driving like this, it seems it's up to the officer to determine such details, obviously depending on the specific area where the shenanigan takes place.

From this point on, it's anybody's guess

Given the mediocre quality of the image, we can't really tell if this is a legitimate ticket or a Photoshop job aimed at trolling Reddit and all of us.

Modded GT-Rs can reach that kind of speed, police officers can sometimes show a bit of understanding if the speeding driver cooperates, but we can't tell if this is a real unicorn or not.

After all, a similar story from 2009, about a Veyron doing 210 mph in California, turned out to be fake. So this wouldn't be the first time when a dude sitting in a trailer with a laptop aims to trick the car world.
