The 2008 Geneava Motor Show marked a change in design philosophy for Renault, where they brought their stunning Megane Coupe for the first time. It showed the way into the future for the French brand, with extremely bold lines and creases, flowing design, good proportions and a very sporty overall feel.
It featured so many interesting and funky design touches, that it would take far too long to mention them all, so we’ll just stick to the full-length gullwing doors, which are electrically operated, full-LED headlights (very new back in 2008) and a breathtaking interior which mirrored the idea of the exterior beautifully, which sadly did not inspire one bit of the interior found in the production version, but we’ll get to that shortly.

The Megane Coupe Concept previewed the Megane Coupe, and did so in a big way, raising expectations considerably. However, in an effort to make a car which has broad appeal, Renault considerably toned down the fancy design touches, and they ended up with a great looking car (the Megane Coupe), which could have been even better, and it definitely deserved a better interior.
