A leaked press release coming from Sony’s South African agency officially confirms that the company, teogether with Polyphone Digital, are developing Gran Turismo 6, with the latest episode of the racing simulator saga set to arrive in time for Christmas.
Gran Turismo 6 will arrive exclusively for the PlayStation 3 platform and is expected to offer an experience that will be even closer to an actual track day. In order to achieve this, Polyphony Digital has teamed up with suspension developer KW Automotive and Yokohama Rubber.
As you can imagine, the list of vehicles and tracks will also grow, with the game expected to offer around 1,200 cars and 33 tracks at launch. As for the new game’s engine, this will place its eggs in the DLC basket.
“Things have changed a lot since then and now Gran Turismo 6 is a further evolution of my dream. We're pleased to deliver GT6 to PlayStation 3 as we have a very loyal community on that platform,” said Kazunori Yamauchi, the man behind the GT series.
