Every time we test a bad touchscreen infotainment system, we notice that either response times are too slow, touch sensitivity isn't good enough or the menus are unfathomable. Either way, we (and a lot of other people) are wondering why you can't simply have a tablet PS installed instead.
German automaker Audi doesn't have problems with bad infotainment systems. In fact, it has some of the best – 4G connectivity, scribble writing on the controller and bang-up-to-date graphics. But since it operates in the very competitive premium market, Audi has decided to bring even better technology to its dashboards and is reportedly partnering up with Google.
The web giant responsible for self-driving cars and Google Street View will help Audi deliver Android operation systems for its cars, the Wall Street Journal reports.
The partnership is reportedly going public next week at the Consumer Electronics Show in Las Vegas and it will allow for better integration of music and navigation apps, as well as improved smartphone communication.
