We don't expect to see anything out of the ordinary this year at the Worthersee GTI. Everybody can install lowered suspension, big wheels and a wrap. However, this is the brand-new Golf GTI Clubsport we are talking about, not just another hot hatch.
The car was supposed to mark the 40th anniversary of the GTI this year and was joined last night by the GTI Clubsport S, an even more hardcore model. Somehow, a few tuners have gotten hold of a customer's car right in time for the GTI Meet and worked their magic.

The 265 horsepower Clubsport may have been overshadowed by some other vehicles based on the MQB platform, such as the TT-RS. But it's the fastest mass-market version of the GTI, as they are only going to make 400 units of the S model. That makes it a perfect starting point for something you want to show in Worthersee.

There are many upgrades, but the easiest to spot are the 8.5x19-inch wheels from OXIGIN. We're told the customer ordered these almost at the same time as the car, hoping they would make it in time. They've got black spokes and a white rim, matching the paint combination and setting off the red brake calipers.

For the wrap, they went with the "Claw Design" where it looks like a giant tiger tore the body apart, revealing what's underneath. Also, Schalk Tuning from Hettstedt fitted the GTI Clubsport with KW Clubsport coilover suspension with variable height adjustment at the front. They can be low for most of the time and raised when you need to clear a speed bump.

Finally, we arrive at the only performance upgrade. You may have noticed already that the GTI Clubsport has only two pipes, and this has four. That's because it's been fitted with Remus sports exhaust and a custom 200-cell downpipe from Bull-X. We'll let you guys know if we find a video.
