Bling is arguably one of the most controversial types of upgrades when it comes to vehicles. However, when referring to motorcycles, which are, by their very nature, made to endure shine and rain, dust and harsh roads, the type of tuning can seem less appropriate in certain conditions.
Now, stepping into gilded hardware territory, it's definitely a matter of take it or leave it. As far as we can tell, Columbia BT is a DJ/rap singer who likes to own things that look in a certain way.

Wheel manufacturers Forgiato posted the picture above on their Facebook account, saying that Columbia BT wanted a new set of wheels for his Spyder. However, these new wheels apparently had to come in a trim that matched the rims of his Bentley Mulsanne, or at least this is what we understood.

Gold is good for showing off

If anything, adding gold-plated parts to a bike can be a valuable aftermarket treatment for someone who uses that respective bike more for showing off than for actually riding hard.

As for the looks, beauty is obviously in the eye of the beholder. Most of the riders we know wouldn't be seen dead touching such blinged vehicles. For strolling up and down the street looking rich, however, this Spyder with gold wheels could be an interesting choice. Of course, provided that you've got someone to take care of it and clean or polish everything to a mirror shine regularly.

I guess there's hardly a more repulsive sight that seeing a dirty blinged-up, Can-Am with golden rims. Some would argue that the sight is already hurting the eyes, but I'll leave the final word to you. Personally, I'd rather say that gold has no place on a bike, even though I am easy-going enough to include Spyders in the bike category.
