General Motors will introduce 15 new and upgraded models in 2014, with most of them to be sold for the 2015 model year, the Detroit-based automaker announced earlier this week.
New releases will include the redesigned Chevrolet Silverado HD and GMC Sierra HD trucks, as well as the manufacturer's brand new lineup of mid-size pickups, consisting of the Chevrolet Colorado and the GMC Canyon.
Moving over to SUVs, the US market will be getting the Chevrolet Tahoe, Chevrolet Suburban, GMC Yukon XL, GMC Denali XL and the Cadillac Escalade, the latter to become available in other markets, including Europe, as well.
The 2015 Cadillac ATS Coupe is also scheduled to go on sale later this year, but GM also mentions the Chevrolet Aveo, Chevrolet Sail and the Cadillac CTS. The company declined to offer any details, but added that its joint venture partners will launch 17 new models in China this year.
GM also announced plans to open four additional plants in China through 2015, enabling production of up to 5 million units annually.
