GM and Tiger Woods Partnership Over
Although the separation seems to be the result of both sides' wishes, it is obvious to any outsider that, due tot the well-known world economic crisis, GM Corp is passing through hard times for the moment and is searching for budget efficiencies. Nevertheless, Tiger himself claims the split up is highly welcomed as he intends to allow more time for his second child that is likely to come in late winter.
According to Woods' comments, the union he is going to leave behind is nice to remember about: “I am very proud of the long standing partnership I’ve had with GM and have enjoyed being a part of the company’s dramatic product evolution. We’ve had a lot of fun together and I participated in some unique and rewarding activities. We’ve enjoyed a tremendous partnership over the years and we will maintain strong ties with the many people at GM we call friends.”
Same thing is available for GM's side. As Mark LaNeve, General Motors North American Vice President of Sales, Service and Marketing states “Tiger has been a great friend to GM and a fantastic asset through the years helping to bring consumer awareness to many new GM products. In light of the news coming out of Washington, this decision is the result of discussions that started earlier in the year and the timing of this agreement with these other activities is purely coincidental.”
Beautifully said, we almost shed a tear after reading such touching confessions. Nice try, but this is money talking.
