A big fan of Elon Musk’s EV cars told his girlfriend he’d marry her instantly if she bought him a Tesla vehicle. Instead of showing off with a Tesla Model S, she did gifted him a Tesla Roadster scale model. So now we’re wondering if they got engaged.
Reddit user Groy Dargon recently posted an image of his newly gifted Tesla car... sort of. It’s not really a car, but a 2008 Roadster scale model. Nevertheless, we did find the story quite amusing so we figured you’d want to know about it.

According to the man’s post, who claims to be a fan of the famous Electric Vehicle, his girlfriend bought him the little green car as a birthday gift. He told her he’d marry him if she did, but you can’t say a scale model isn’t a good start.

As far as we can tell, we’re looking at a $17 Black 2008 Tesla Roadster Hot Wheels 1:64 scale model, which means the girlfriend didn’t really know much about the car (or maybe she couldn't find a Tesla Model S scale model). Not that the Roadster isn’t cool enough, but we’re pretty sure his boyfriend at least meant for the Tesla Model S. Either way, you’ll have to admit this little story is quite funny.

Musk got a long way from his first EV

As to the actual Tesla Roadster, you probably know by now that it was the first highway-capable all electric vehicle in serial production for sale in the United States. Since 2008, Tesla had sold more than 2,400 Roadsters in 31 countries through September 2012, and most of the remaining Tesla Roadsters were sold in Europe and Asia during the fourth quarter of 2012.

On the other hand, however, we all agree with the fact Elon Musk went a long way from his first model to the current Tesla Model S P85D. After all, we’re now talking about two electric motors mounted in each axle of the luxury sedan, which make the green beast all-wheel drive. This setup also cuts the P85’s 4.2-second 0 to 60 mph (96 km/h) acceleration to a stunning 3.2-second. In other words, the newest Tesla car has similar performances better than thos of the BMW M4 or the Mercedes-AMG GT.
