Meet Mark Lundquist. Even though he looks like your typical friendly senior neighbor, there's nothing typical about what's lying in his garage. During his high school years, Mark worked at Standard Oil gas station, filling up the tanks of sixties and seventies muscle cars with high octane gasoline. That's how his passion for powerful American coupes ignited.
About 12 years ago, after his kids finished college, Mark started to save up some money in order to fulfill his lifetime dream of owning an American muscle car. He went to a Chevy junkyard in order to find a good condition Nomad, but ended up buying a '65 Malibu SS.
First thing Mark did with the vehicle was to swap the original engine with a 502 cubic inch (8.2-liter) big block crate V8 for that extra punch and rumble. Rated at 502 horsepower and 567 lb-ft (768 Nm) of torque, the restomodded '65 Malibu SS is perfect for both cruising on the freeway or drag racing your way from a green traffic light to the next one.
Mark's garage saw the addition of several other Chevys over the years. However, his other sweetheart ride after the Malibu is a '72 Chevelle SS powered by a 402 cubic inch (6.6-liter) V8 mill with 240 horsepower on tap. Found on eBay in bone stock condition, the only restoration work his beloved Chevelle SS has been through was the red exterior paint job with black go-faster stripes and a refurbished interior.
