If you grew up in the 90's, you know that the only way to be successful in life is to have an E46 BMW M3 with the largest wheels possible, so that everybody can see the blue brakes.
The only problem with that theory is that cars with the M badge tend to be very expensive. Today, a 1-Series M Coupe in excellent condition is more expensive than when it was new, and the E46 with a third of a million kilometers is worth about €10,000.

What do you do? You buy a regular 3 Series and hope nobody will notice the brakes are the wrong color. However, that's not going to be a problem if you order these fake brakes we found on eBay. No, they don't include the disks, in fact, you don't even get new calipers or pads. All that £140 ($210) brings you is four covers that go over the stock BMW units.

The seller says they fit pretty much every modern BMW built from 2008 until today, starting with the 7 Series and ending with the 2 Series Active Tourer. Last time we checked, there's no such thing as an M2 AT, but we could be wrong on that one!

In any case, the parts are made from ABS plastic that's supposed to withstand heat fluctuations. The seller says they are totally safe, but we can't help wonder what would happen if one were to jam suddenly against the rim and stop that wheel. It would be like not having anti-lock brakes on that corner and would guarantee a spin. But don't let that keep you from living your ///M dreams!

The installation seems very simple too – no screws involved. You just cut the caliper cover to the size that fits your car, apply some sort of glue and a band of double-sided tape and you're done. Just wait until the whole thing sets and you have an M car. But the fact that the text over these photos is in Chinese raises some question marks. For example, what if the now larger brakes don't fit inside the wheel?
