Geneva 2012: SEAT Toledo Concept

SEAT has unveiled the new Toledo Concept at the Geneva Motor Show that is, as you’d expect from a VW Group vehicle, virtually production ready. It even comes with a full interior and a commodious boot, which we liked because it opened wider like a hatchback instead of like a normal sedan.

The styling of this compact car is taken from the various other SEAT concepts from the past, the IBE, IBX and IBL. The overall shape is elongated and streamlined, with the C-pillars especially giving a very coupe-ish look to the car.

SEAT has not come forth with any of the engine details yet, but considering this shares its platform with the VW Jetta, you can be sure the two will share some of the six petrol and diesel variants available in Europe.

“At a length of 4.48 metres, the forthcoming SEAT Toledo is compact enough for city driving. With its spacious interior and generous luggage capacity, it is nevertheless well equipped for long journeys and family transportation needs. The wheelbase of 2.60 metres delivers plenty of room for five passengers,” SEAT says.

The production version of the new Toledo will arrive at dealerships within the next 12 months.
