If you thought that Bulgaria was only good for pickles and Vilner, you were wrong. And to lower that raised eyebrow, here's some amazing BMW work from Ivaylo Trendafilov's Galaxy Custom: an R1200R blowing tons of other customs out of the water.
The main idea was to create a classic streetfighter loaded with all the modern tech one enjoys these days. And since the R1200R is a truly revered street bike, on they went. We must admit we never expected a telelever BMW without one, but Ivaylo showed no mercy: the BMW suspension went away and was replaced with a classic, adjustable fork with a bigger rake for an even more smashing look.
The frame was heavily modified to serve the purpose of the project, while a customized R71 tank replaced the original one, reshaping it made room for the fuel pump and electronics. This allowed for a very tidy look for the new beast.
Kineo custom rims were loaded with larger rotors and received Avon Distanzia tires which make the Galaxy Custom ride well on pretty much any kind of road, and even off the asphalt strip. The handlebars were left untouched as they matched the project better than expected, but the seat is all custom.
Adding in exhaust wrapping, a mini silencer and the K&N pod filters brought the BMW closer to the old-school look, with the underbar mirrors screaming vintage attitude. The new beast is a long and mean one, and we believe it comes with great stability. We did not see this one coming, but we're glad Pipeburn stumbled upon it.
