While they usually tune gasoline-powered BMWs, the technicians at G-Power will not refuse diesels. In this case, we are talking about a particular diesel engine, as the unit comes with three turbochargers. The M50d power plant is a 3.0-liter inline six engine, and it’s the only one of its kind with three turbos.

The kit from G-Power, consisting of the D-Tronik 5 V1 module, raises maximum output to the 455 HP mark, while peak torque goes up to 870 Nm (641 lb-ft).

Compared to the standard model, this is an increase of 74 HP and 130 Nm (95 lb-ft) of torque, well worth the €2,500 price tag. After all, when compared to the acquisition cost of the X6 M50d, the expense is justified for a bespoke remapping of the factory ECU.

The tuners at G-Power also propose a set of ultra-light forged alloy wheels. These have a diameter of 23 inches and come with high-performance tires. The wheels can be ordered in one of three finishes: “Jet Black,” “Gun Metal Grey,” and “Stardust Silver.”

Optionally, the BMW tuner offers a “Diamond Cut” finish, which means that the wheels can be partially or entirely polished. If you are eccentric, each wheel can be personalized with a signature, as long as it does not exceed 15 characters. A single wheel costs almost €2,000, and that’s the cheapest version.

The guys at G-Power have gone through the effort of making a power increase kit called Bi-Tronik 5 V1, which does not change the standard operation of the engine during idle or partial loads. Instead, it only kicks into action when the accelerator is pressed hard, or when the Sport mode is activated (both valid for the Bi-Tronik, not for the D-Tronik).

Since G-Power has over 30 years of experience in tuning BMW cars, they offer warranty for their work. Furthermore, for just €300, customers can get the “care package,” which includes supplementary services, like the transfer from workshop to G-Power, and other facilities. These are only available for customers in Germany, Austria, and Switzerland, for logistic reasons.
