Big luxury SUVs are usually the main target of tuners, and German models like the X5 are the prime candidates. This was the case with tuning specialists G Power, who have just mated their TYPHOON body kit with the facelifted version of the BMW vehicle.

A full set of striking images have been released, and the German tuners have also done their usual tricks on what’s under the bonnet. Thus, the 4.8-litre 8-cylinder mill of the X5 now kicks up a storm, producing 525 horsepower thanks to the SK III kit. G Power say that you can now take the X5 to a maximum speed of 275 kilometers per hour, which is impressive considering the size of the beast.

The power boost is enabled by the ASA T1- 522 supercharger, which brings 170 extra horses from under the bonnet of the X5 facelift, in addition to the 600 Nm of torque available at 5,300 rpm. This is enough for a 0 to 100 Km/h (0 to 62 mph) sprint time of only 4.7 seconds.

On the cosmetic front, the TYPHOON body kit consists of new and very aggressive bumpers front and back, massive wheel arch extensions and LEDs at the front. Custom side skirts have also been fitted, making the X5 look like a mix between a touring car and an off-roader. The ventilated bonnet made of carbon fiber is impressive enough, but the feature that impressed us the most is that mid-positioned exhaust with two tips that’s flanked by a diffuser-style rear bumper. It make the X5’s back look like some sort of mix between a MINI JCW and a Porsche Cayman.
