The engineers of the German brand have been spotted by our spy photographers while testing two variants of the upcoming X3. One of the cars had the M-Sport package, and another one was a standard model, with a different trim level. Even with camouflage, you can still observe the difference between the standard X3 and the X3 with the M Package.

BMW’s next X3 will be the third generation of this SUV, and will also be the largest. It will come to market three years after the facelift of the F25 was launched, and it appears that the X5’s smaller brother could even exceed the second generation of the X5 in size.

If the next X3 will not get bigger than the E70 X5, it surely looks as big as it in the spyshots found in the photo gallery. Every element of the X3 has gotten bigger, from the BMW badge to the grille, headlights, and side mirrors.

The ride height of the X3 has been increased, but the height of the body has grown as well. Furthermore, the windows are bigger than ever before, and the rims are also massive. BMW was not shy at all when it came to sculpting the body, which makes the first generation X3 seem understated and tiny at the same time.

Camouflage entirely conceals the back of the upcoming X3, but BMW has let a small part of the vehicle remain uncovered. Unlike previous prototypes spotted by photographers, this model has a deceitful vinyl camouflage instead of simply a matte black layer of canvas.

Thankfully, this camouflage scheme allows us to see more of the body of the next X3, which is expected in showrooms sometimes in the second half of 2017.
