Frankfurt-bound Toyota Prius+ Revealed

Japanese automotive giant Toyota has just take the wraps off their new seven-seater Prius+ that will have its big debut at the 2011 Frankfurt International Auto Show this September.The model provides extra room for up to seven passengers on three rows, while also keeping efficiency as its main focus. This hybrid MPV comes with a takes its design cues from the regular model, which means the aero look is there for all to look at, in combination with sharp, triangular-looking headlights, flat surfaces and aerodynamic shape. As per usual, Toyota says the aero corners cut through the air and reduced turbulence, while the and an enlarged lower grille to gives better engine cooling. The biggest shape comes at the back, where the Prius+ shows its extra 155 mm of length. The hybrid MPV is also wider by 30mm and taller as well. In addition, the wheelbase has been extended by 80 mm to make more room inside. As with the third generation Prius, the Prius+ gets Toyota’s three-way ‘on-demand’ knob to let you decide if you want to focus on economy or not. This includes pure EV mode that lets you drive around with zero local emissions thanks to a more compact Lihium-Ion battery that will be place in the central console between the driver and passenger.
