The Peugeot RCZ R made its debut at the Goodwood Festival of Speed earlier this year and now it’s greeting the public at the Frankfurt Motor Show.
The engineers have reworked the 1.6-liter turbocharged engine, pushing it to 270 hp and 330 Nm. The list of upgraded mechanical bits include the pistons, con rods, turbo and exhaust. The last also includes a sound symposer that boost the sound inside the cabin.
The result is the fastest road-legal Peugeot, as the the RCZ R needs only 5.9 seconds to hit 62 mph and comes with an electronically limited top speed of 155 mph (250 km/h). In fact, we can’t think of another FWD car in production that deals with the 0 to 62 mph sprint quicker.
In addition, there a lowered (-10mm) and reworked suspension, wider tracks and 19-inch wheels. The tech package is completed by a limited slip differential, which aims to make all the muscle manageable.
