To celebrate the 50th Anniversary of the original Abarth 595 which was launched this month in 1963 at the Turin Motor Show, the Italians have launched a special edition model at the Frankfurt Motor Show.
We caught up to this little car on the show floor and have to say it's a spectacular little beauty. We'll get to the details later, but just look at how nice it looks. Instead of the usual paintjob, Abarth went for a supple satin white finish for the body. Red stripes and scorpions show people this car wants to be treated with respect.

Abarth says this is the most powerful 595 model, and that's because it actually has 180 hp, like the 695 models. Other tuning goodies include a set of Brembo 305mm disks with a four-piston caliper painted in red.

The Abarth 595 50th Anniversary also comes with Record Monza dual mode exhaust system which make make the sound more radical over 3,000 rpm by by bypassing the final muffler.

Only 299 of these gems will be produced, all fitted with historical logos. It won't be a bargain, but at least it's special.

Mihnea's favorite cars have already been built, the so-called modern classics from the '80s and '90s. He also loves local car culture from all over the world, so don't be surprised to see him getting excited about weird Japanese imports, low-rider VWs out of Germany, replicas from Russia or LS swaps down in Florida.
