So far, the sales of the new F15 X5 have been doing quite well but something’s missing from the line-up. That’s right, we’re missing the old E70 X5 M, the SUV that frightens people on the highways. To make us feel more comfortable and forget about how much we have to wait until BMW actually launches the new F85 X5 M model, the guys from Fostla revealed their latest tuning kit for the old version.
The German tuner claims that their creation has no less than 650 HP and 900 Nm (664 lb-ft) of torque at its disposal, coming from the S63 4.4-liter twin turbo V8 hiding under the bonnet. The stock model would make around 555 HP and 680 Nm (501 lb-ft) of torque, in case you forgot.

In order to achieve such numbers, the guys used a PP-Performance stage 2 kit alongside an Akrapovic exhaust that will deal with the extra fumes coming out of the engine and also change the tone of the SUV.

Coupled with the xDrive system, the new power figures should turn this car into a sub 4.5 second car, maybe even dangerously close to the new M3 and M4 models that are nearly half a ton lighter.

On the outside, the car received an anodized matte red body wrap along with new smoked headlights and taillights that go perfectly with the new 21” BMW wheels. That choice kind-of surprised us as tuners usually go for some aftermarket rims when creating bespoke models. The price tag for all of this, you ask? €8,000 which is actually decent for a car like this. We’d leave the red and white roundels aside, though.
