It seems that 10 electric “carts”, which are all the same, being driven in the new Formula E championship are not a big subject for the media to cover. Well, it's their loss, since this is one of the biggest events in automotive history, and it's also Sky Deutschalnd's win, the company who claimed all rights to broadcast the event.
Leading pay-TV provider in Germany, Sky Deutschland announced it secured the exclusive live broadcasting rights for the FIA Formula E Championship. And yes, this does include the internet, IPTV and mobile rights.

Taking place on Saturdays, the races covered by Sky will also contain half and hour of pre-coverage and 15 minutes of post-race analysis, while Sascha Roos and Sven Heidfeld will provide commentary.

“Germany has a long and illustrious motorsport heritage and as such remains a key market for Formula E,” said Formula E media director Ali Russel. “We’re therefore delighted to be able to announce this deal with Sky Deutschland, which will bring a new era of close, street racing to Germany’s passionate motorsport fans and build further interest ahead of the inaugural Berlin ePrix in May 2015.”

The first race will take place in Beijing, China, on September 13th, Sky starting its live broadcast from 9:30 am (CET). Ten teams will race their fully electric single-seaters on a street circuit surrounding the city's stadium. Each team has two cars for the race, all being identical and drivers having to change from one to another during the race.

So, it's going to be a lot of tense moments in this special season, with the drivers' skill being a decisive factor for winning. The season will span onto next year, moving the action to Buenos Aires, Miami, Long Beach, Monte Carlo, London and Berlin.
