The 2013 Shine Award at this year's SEMA Show in Las Vegas went to George Poteet's stunning 1969 Ford Torino Talladega "GPT Special".
Built by Troy Trepanier's Rad Rides, the classic musclecar features a Holman Moody-inspired wide body with the grille, tailight bezels and other trims parts CNC'd from large chunks of billet aluminum. The body is finished in a BASF Glasurit 90-Line Tennessee Whiskey Gold gloss and Daytona Sand satin paint, which took more than one thousand man-hours to prepare and complete.

Power is provided by a Boss 429 engine complete with a Ford experimental mechanical fuel-injection intake converted to EFI by Rad Rides, while the chassis is an Art Morrison unit with C5 Corvette front suspension and a Detroit Speed four-link at the rear.

As a reminder, the Ford Torino Talladega was a race car developed for the 1969 NASCAR season and it was sold to the public only because homologation rules required that 500 units need to be made available for sale to the public.
