Ford Preparing 400 hp Taurus SHO
It seems that Ford is planing to bring the Taurus SHO to a new level. According to sema.org, the 2012 model year will make the SHO a true beast, with both performance and aesthetic enhancements expected.
It is believed that the automotive producer’s engineers are currently working to modify the 3.5 liter powerplant of the car. The unit, which now produces 365 hp will receive multiple tweaks that will allow it to put 400 hp at the driver’s disposal.
Being a downsized unit, the engine will be able to deliver this kind of power and offer a good efficiency at the same time. This means that, once you put the pedal to the metal, the vehicle will launch forward in an effortless wave of acceleration. However, if you wish to be gentle with the pedal on the right, the mpg and C02 emission figures will be incredibly good for a vehicle of this size and power.
The facelifted SHO should also show its muscles. Ford is reportedly planing to offer the vehicle a more distinct look, that would really make it stand out in the Taurus range, Many details of the vehicle, from its custom rims to fine badging details, will scream “power”. However, don’t expect to see a pumped up aftermarket-like appearance. The sign of road supremacy will be discreet.
