Ford is the Most Searched-For Automaker on Google in the US

It seems that Ford, as a brand, is as popular as ever, and now Google has announced that it is, in fact, the most searched-for automotive brand in 2012, in the US. Following Ford, Honda, Toyota, Lincoln, Dodge, Nissan, BMW, Jeep, Chevrolet and Audi were also mentioned, but their popularity is nowhere near as impressive as that of the Blue Oval.

In Australia, Ford comes second, as Toyota is the most popular brand there, while in Germany, Opel is the first, being followed by BMW, Audi, VW, Mercedes, Renault, Porsche and then Ford. Also, the people who actually do the searches are merely seeking to be informed, and not necessarily buy the car, so this data is irrelevant for automakers, who would have undoubtedly used it to boost sales, somehow.

Google says that it analyzed 1.2-trillion searches, from 146 countries, before putting together this report, so the data is accurate in its own right, yet it is of no real use to anybody.
