How about waking up in the morning to a bacon-wrapped Ford Fiesta? This is no joke... April 1 is long gone and according to our calendar it’s still August 28 for a few hours. So what’s up with Ford? Well, Saturday is Bacon Day in the US and they thought this is the best way to celebrate.
Getting back to the car, Ford says the bacon graphics seen above are custom vinyl graphics that “Fiesta buyers can have installed on their ride to express their personalities”. They’re made by Ford Custom Graphics, who offers not just the full “Bacon Wrap” with “10 giant strips of delicious bacon rolled around the entire Fiesta”, but also sells three more options: “Bacon Racing Strips”, “Side of Bacon” (“popular among those on a diet”), and “Bacon Mini Strips”.

To make this even more hilarious, Ford says the design was proudly approved by Allan Benton, CEO of Benton’s Country Hams, “the producer of what some consider the world’s greatest bacon”. Ok then! We proudly approve as well. Just for the laughs. The automotive industry was getting way to serious anyway...

Scroll below for the automaker’s press release and head over to Ford Custom Graphics to have fun putting bacon strips on the 2014 Fiesta.
